I myself am looking forward to seeing what Google is going to bring to the table with regards to social gaming.

However, I can't seen Google Wave integration becoming a feature of these types of games as in general social games in my opinion are more off the cuff/once in a while style.

Additionally, I think they might have trouble trying to knock the likes of Facebook off their perch but I can't wait to see how they go about it.

I'm watching this space closely ...

Nice, clear explanation of Open Graph.

My simplistic view of Open Graph versus Google's search engine is that Google spiders and indexes websites whilst Facebook spiders 'people' and indexes their behaviour and interests, their friends behaviour, etc.

I agree that this Facebook are building a different kind of web search based on Like 'links' and the Open Graph. Given they are part owned by Microsoft they could well combine the OG with Bing search technologies to create a much more personally relevant search experience.

BTW - I discovered this post because a friend 'FB Like-d' it. :)

Good point Matthew. The fact that the campaign lasted only for a month was a problem for political parties. However they could have overcomed this by implementing things before the election.

Hello Nudge!
I believe what went wrong with social media's at the general elections was 'time'. It takes time to build an effective social media campaign - it isn't as mass or instant as say Television and the electorate didn't have 1 year to campaign like Obama and his counterparts.

I don't think social media is a dotcom boom/bust scenerio just mis-understood sometimes as 'mass' instead of 'me niche' media.

Thanks Chris for the comment.

It turns out it depends how many fans you have (over 10k qualifies) or if the page has been independently authenticated by the Facebook team.

Cheers
